SATINGEAR - The Idea Behind
I've always been into satin - ever since I was, like 7! I know this because my first satins were some really shiny satin shorts and a matching satin baseball jacket - and my first crush was a boy from the other class who had the same set but in red. As a kid satin jackets and shorts was all I ever wanted to wear, hehe. As I grew up I was always on the lookout for sexy satin boys/mens gear but I quickly discovered that finding such clothes was hard. Today it's much easier because satin has made a stable, shiny home in mens fashion - but you still have to be quick on your feet to get what you want and what's available may not be exactly what you're looking for - or available in your size. I'm still shopping satin gear from the big fashion houses/brands when something cool comes up - but 95% of new additions to my wardrobe are custom made by SATINGEAR. For years I have sold my used gear in places like eBay. Now, however, I have decided to launch SATINGEAR as a proper business and make custom made satin menswear available to anyone who's interested in getting the exact satin gear that he wants - no more compromising on look, quality or type of satin. What Does Custom Made Mean?
A thing that maybe a bit hard to understand - if you've been used to buying solely off-the-rack clothes - is what custom made really means. But what it means is that you get exactly what you want. It's that simple. Say you've always dreamt of a satin LAKERS jacket in purple, with the old 80's logo. You also want deep yellow lining and piping on the sleeves and slash pockets - plus matching purple/yellow knit rib trims. Well, that's exactly what I'll make - in your size, from your measurements. Or maybe you've always been yearning for a red satin suit, single-breasted, 3-button, single-vented with patch pockets and pick-stitching? No problem. Or maybe you've been fantasising about a baby blue onesie made of satin, lined in white satin? Glad to make it for you. Or maybe some really cool camouflage satin jeans? Sounds great - we'll develop the camo pattern you want, special-print the satin fabric and make your jeans. Or how about a silk satin summer shirt with pineapples all over it? Sounds fantastic - I'll design your pineapple print and special-print it on silk. This means is that you can get any type of garment, any style of garment made in any type of fabric - you decide. Your Satin Dream Gear
Every piece handcrafted by SATINGEAR is the result of a close collaboration with the client. It's a big responsibility because often a client has thought about his particular satin dream gear for years and years -and he may have saved up for it for a long time. Now, finally, his satin dreams will be realised. I must therefore make every effort to listen closely to my client's wishes and reflect them 100% in the final satin garment. "I found a photo on the Internet of this sexy guy wearing an awesome satin trenchcoat and I want something exactly like that", said a client. Of course! Some clients, on the other hand, prefer to hear my suggestions based on their need for certain pieces of clothing: "I would like a silk shirt with a matching jacket - any ideas?". Oh yes. Many! The gear is then developed in unison with the client, fabrics sourced, even printed, knit rib trims for the jacket are woven, zippers and buttons found and the client's dream satin gear takes shape. Bespoke, however is not an immediate process - what you order and pay for today, you won't get tomorrow. Typically your gear will take 6-8 weeks to make but it can be longer.
