100% Acetate
Satin
Acetate satin is an extremely shiny, densely
woven (300 thread-count) and very
soft fabric. It's the "original" satin that was
used in all satin garments in the 70s and 80s.
SATINGEAR.COM is the only place to get custom
made gear made in this sexy fabric.
No satin compares for softness and shine, but
it is a delicate fabric so you need
to be careful with your garments so as to not
scratch or stain the fabric.
Acetate satin is used in 95% of the
garments that SATINGEAR.COM makes.

Charmeuse Satin
Charmeuse
satin is a very shiny, soft type of satin. It is also sometimes called
lingerie satin because of its use in such
garments. Charmeuse is great for lining
(if you don't want acetate satin lining) and
can also be used for shirts & pyjamas.

Lamé
Lamé is extremely, almost mirror-shiny and is
great for super-flashy
shirts and other garments. It is soft but in a
different way than satin.

Machine Washable
Satin - NEW!!!
This polyester satin is very shiny, soft AND
machine washable.
It is not as densely woven nor quite as shiny
as acetate satin but
it has more hold (is "stiffer") than the
charmeuse satins - and it has
the practical advantage of being machine
washable unlike other satins.
Chose this kind of satin for, say, athletic wear
which you don't
want to have drycleaned all the time. This
satin can be used
for all kinds of garments though - it's good
for lining too.
